This was my was first time to The Lost Anchor and it was an experience I’ve never had like any other on PEI. I am born and raised on the island and like to try out new restaurants. I’ve heard good things about The Lost Anchor, so I had to give it a try. I got the BBQ wings (best I’ve had on the island), seafood chowder, and the captains burger. All three meals were very delicious and better than expected. The service from Jenna and Sarah was nothing, but the best. Both were very nice and very knowledgeable for any questions I had about the food and beer.

We saw this restaurant coming in to town and knew we had to try it- we weren’t disappointed! The fish tacos were delicious, and others in my group loved their fish and chips. The PEI home cut fries are truly something else. The legend of the lost anchor painted on the wall was really neat as well. We stayed in Cavendish for several days and this was by far my favorite place to eat.

The food here was so good we went back the next night to have dinner here again. The first night we had the fried scallops to start, which were cooked beautifully, had a nice thin crisp to the outside and a delicious homemade tartar sauce. For our mains we had the Fish Tacos and the Burger – the fish tacos were so flavourful and the fries that came with it where the best we’ve tried on the island. The burger was absolutely delicious – full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this burger! The next night we had the Fish and Chips and the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar salad. The batter on the fish was light, thin and crispy and the fish was cooked perfectly – we loved it. The chicken sandwich was awesome as well – so much flavour, great crunch and lots of chicken! The Caesar salad was a great alternative to the fries and I loved the dressing.  We highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning here next time we are on the island.
